Microsoft’s Calculator Is Going Crazy

Microsoft is if not the biggest software and hardware company but is well known for its operating system “Windows“.

We all rely on calculators nowadays. From daily work to our professional lives a calculator is what we need to get everything sorted. But what if your calculator starts ruining your daily calculations ? Well here is Microsoft’s own calculator which doesn’t seem to work quite well with smaller calculations.

Microsoft Is Crazy ?

Well up to some extent we do think that this is a really big mistake that they have committed till date as there were no issues reported. They have been constantly eating up your bandwidth providing updates every other day on mostly any application that is installed on your computer. While they thought that the calculator is the easiest job the probably didn’t give much attention.

Is that the only problem ?

Well no, if this would be the only issue then things might have just sunk in but we have a really good yet annoying problem here. It was Windows 10 when Microsoft added its own Artificial Intelligence Assistant called Cortana and she has been doing a pretty bad job.

cortana How To Fix This ?

I suggest you to follow the suggestions below and check if that works for you:

  1. Open the Task manager.  Here’s a tip:  Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
  2. Click File > Run New Task
  3. Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  4. Type CMD
  5. Type the following 4 commands at the CMD prompt:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    powershell
    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like “*SystemApps*”} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

  6. Close the CMD window

Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

Conclusion

Well, what I would like to say in the end would be just one thing, please re-check all your calculations again. In future try using different calculators to compare instead of relying on just one. Share it for your friends 😉
